World Parkinson's Disease Day

Did you know that Parkinson's disease affects more than 10 million people worldwide? To raise awareness of this motor disorder, World Parkinson's Day is celebrated every year on April 11. The reason for choosing this day is that it happens to coincide with the anniversary of James Parkinson, the neurologist who discovered it.
